Tale of the Dog is the creation of self-described hot dog enthusiast, Jeff Gayton. He worked on the concept for three years before finally opening in Ashland, Oregon in 2026.

Because every hot dog tells a story, not just about food, but about a time and a place. From the original Chicago dog 

Have you ever seen a hot dog eating contest? Do you know how they eat the bun? They stuff it in a glass of water, mash it into a ball, and swallow it whole. Do you want to eat a bun you can do that to? We sure don't. We bake the best New England style buns, because you can't have a great hot dog without a great hot dog bun.
